As well as being a sound investment choice, art decorates the places that we live and work, making them aesthetically pleasing to ourselves and our guests. We believe there are six key principals to follow when choosing art to not only invest in, but also cherish.
Rule number one: buy with your heart and with your eyes. Buy what pleases you every time you look at it and also pleases the people you live with.
Take your time to learn about the artist, their inspiration and their values. This will help to inform your choice and the decisions you make.
Buy at the right price. If you research your artist and their work thoroughly, you will automatically understand what the right price is.
Choose the correct artist. This simply means one that is currently emerging or already well established and represented. Again, if you carry out the second principal thoroughly, you will automatically choose the right artist.
Prove it to yourself. Ensure the source, compliance and authenticity of what you are purchasing is sound. Do you have documented history to validate the piece? Does the piece have certificates of authentication?
Finally, buy from trusted sellers. It is a Wild West world out there. Ensure you are buying from someone or an organisation you trust and are happy to build a long term relationship with.
